Mild cognitive impairment—a silent disorder
Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is a slight decline in memory and thinking ability, above the level expected due to normal aging. It is transitional stage between normal aging and dementia. Around 12-21% of people aged over 60 suffer from this medical condition could be an underestimate due to underdiagnoses.
One of our goals is to help people take action to prevent, tackle, and improve early stage cognitive dysfunction by offering a clinically proven nutritional solution like BrainXpert twice a day.
In MCI patients has been demonstrated that the decrease in brain glucose metabolism is strongly associated with a decrease in cognitive decline. When this is happening, an alternative source of energy for the brain cells is required to compensate brain glucose utilization in patients with MCI. Recently a clinical trial conducted in MCI has showed that with the use of ketogenic medium-chain triglycerides can balance out the brain’s lack of fuel and improve cognitive outcomes in patients with MCI, thanks to the increased availability of ketones that significantly support brain energy supply.
